Chassis No. ZFF97CMA2P0297274 For half a century, Ferrari’s rich lineage of front-engine V12 convertibles—which began in 1948 with the Le Mans-winning 166 MM and extended through 1969 with the introduction of the legendary GTS/4 Daytona—only existed in a handful of limited-production models. That changed in September 2019 when Ferrari introduced the 812 GTS as the latest series-production front-engine V12 convertible from Maranello. The new model shared its mechanicals with the flagship 812 Superfast, including its naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine, developing 800 cavalli vapore, which equates to an astronomical 789 imperial horses. This incredibly responsive power unit not only made the 812 GTS the most powerful convertible on the market at the time of its release, but also one of the most versatile. The engine’s full 789 horsepower became available at a soaring 8,500 rpm, while maintaining a remarkable 80-percent of its maximum 530 lb-ft of torque from just 3,500 rpm thanks to its broad power band. The V12's character was further enhanced by its precise throttle calibration and its ultra-responsive dual-clutch transmission with shortened gear ratios and optimized shift strategies, ensuring immediate response to throttle inputs across all driving modes. This extreme and immediate power was able to be confidently controlled by the driver thanks to the V12’s position behind the front axle, placing 53-percent of the car’s weight rearward and bestowing the 812 GTS with ultra-sharp steering. By far the 812 GTS’s finest achievement was its masterful balance of performance with acoustic drama, offering the driver a direct connection to the screaming naturally-aspirated Ferrari V12. Ferrari’s designers achieved a remarkable feat in the open-top conversion, adding just 165 pounds to the Superfast's 3,851-pound curb weight—a modest 4.3-percent increase. The retractable hardtop mechanism, which deployed in a mere 14 seconds, transformed the grand tourer into an open-air concert hall. The soundtrack of the 6.5-liter V12 climbing to its 8,900 rpm redline provided an auditory experience that only a naturally-aspirated Ferrari V12 could. Ferrari's meticulous attention to exhaust harmonics was evident in their design of the equal-length 6-in-1 exhaust manifold, which prioritized first-order combustion frequencies for optimal acoustic character. While the 812 GTS came comprehensively equipped from Maranello with carbon-ceramic brake discs, forged 20-inch alloy wheels, and hand-stitched leather upholstery as standard fare, each example became a unique expression of its commissioner's taste through Ferrari's extensive personalization program. The example depicted here, completed in June 2023, exemplifies the artistry possible within Ferrari's specification process, presented in elegant Bianco Avus offset by a vibrant Rosso Ferrari leather interior. The specification plaque mounted on the inside of the front trunk indicates that the first owner spared no expense in configuring their new 812 GTS, equipping it with over $79,000 in bespoke options. These include Matte Silver forged racing wheels, Red brake calipers, and Scuderia Ferrari fender shields. Inside, the leather-swathed cabin is highlighted by numerous optional Bianco leather accents and contrast stitching, Cavallino-stitched headrests, carbon fiber on the dash, console, and steering wheel, a White rev counter, and Nuevo Rosso floormats. Modern conveniences were also carefully considered, equipping the Ferrari with a suspension lifter, adaptive headlights, back radar and parking camera, full electric seats, Apple CarPlay, a passenger display, and a JBL high power Hi-Fi system. According to its clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report, the lavishly equipped 812 GTS was initially registered in Fresno, California, in November 2023 before changing hands to subsequent owners in Florida and Ohio. Today, the car shows just 500 miles from new and represents an exemplary offering from Ferrari's rich V12 convertible lineage. In an era dominated by forced induction and electrification, this V12 spider delivers a mechanical symphony that crescendos to 8,900 rpm—an experience made all the more visceral with its retractable hardtop stowed. There's simply nothing else that combines such ferocious performance with such mechanical purity. This remarkably preserved example offers the opportunity to experience one of Ferrari's most accomplished front-engine grand tourers in virtually as-delivered condition complete with its owner’s manuals, car cover, battery tender, and two keys.
